A Week With The Nokia N95 – An Everyday Users Review
Well it’s been a week since I started using my Nokia N95 and to be honest it has had its ups and downs.Let’s begin with the downs. The battery life is…. Atrocious, Abysmal, disgusting, appalling? I’m not sure which word to use. But three out of four start with A. Basically it’s really bad. It only really shows when you’re using the GPS feature of the phone for the sat nav at which point a fully charged battery will last approx 1 hour. Yep that’s right 1 measly hour. Now i'm not one to moan about everything just for the sake of it but is 1 hour really a reasonable battery life or did nokia just think “Well if its going to be rubbish we may as well make it really rubbish”On the plus side however I did find a free car charger in the bag when it arrived. I imagine this was at nokia's request as most of the networks seem to be giving the car charger with the phone now. Which means the phone becomes useable. Which is good.UpsidesThe Camera, Music playback and general GPS Sat Nav usage are great. There is a video of the sat nav in use at http://www.n95phone.com/GPS-video.html
if you want to check it out.I must say I am impressed with the camera and not just down to the fact that it is the first 5 mega pixel to grace my hands but it seems very colourful in comparison to my K800i Sony Ericsson. Hopefully ill put some comparison shots onto the homepage at my Nokia N95 site in the next few days. The music quality while leaving a little to be desired is none the less very acceptable and I will be using the music player on the nokia in place of my K800i when I complete the switch between the 2 phones. In terms of ease of use I decided to use Windows Media Player to transfer the songs over and it has worked with no problem at all.The only other consideration would be the size and weight but as you will probably already know by now the N95 is lighter than the n91 by some 40 grams and is at worst slightly heavier than average. All in all a very good phone if you can manage the battery life being quite below average.visit us at the Nokia N95 Deal Website
